Start your first product description from an empty performance summary

You land on the empty page and don’t know what to do next
A new shop owner often opens the Performance summary expecting to see something useful and sees nothing yet. That empty page can stop the work before it starts. You came to check how your shop is doing, but there isn’t any copy to review because you haven’t written your first product description.
That’s the moment this change matters. From the empty Performance summary, you can choose Create product description and move straight into the content studio to save your first draft.
What to do instead of backing out
If the Performance summary is empty, start there.
- Open the empty Performance summary.
- Choose Create product description.
- Enter the content studio.
- Write and save your first draft.
This keeps you moving from the page that shows you have no product copy yet to the place where you can make some. You don’t need to hunt through the rest of the app to find where product copy starts.
What it looks like when it works
Say you just opened your shop and added your first item, like a candle, a bag, or a bar of soap. You check the Performance summary because you want to see whether anything has been written or tracked yet. It’s empty, because this is your first time there.
Instead of stopping there, you choose Create product description. The content studio opens, and you can write the copy for that first item right away. When you save it, you’ve gone from a blank summary to a draft you can use on the product page.
That helps in a simple way: the first useful step is right where the empty page tells you to begin.
What to watch for on your first visit
The empty Performance summary is not a sign that something is wrong with your shop. It usually means you haven’t created product copy yet.
If you expect to see results before you’ve written anything, the page will feel unfinished. It isn’t asking you to read data first. It’s asking you to make the first draft that will give the summary something to show later.
A good first visit ends with one saved product description, not with another tab left open.
What to do first
Start with the product you most want to sell. Write one clear description for it in the content studio and save it. After that, the Performance summary has something to build from, and you can keep working from there.
If you’re opening the app for the first time, this is the shortest route from an empty screen to a usable first draft.
